Agent in Charge Melvin Journey from the Washington State Liquor Control Board died January 23, 1999, from Hepatitis C which he contracted from a blood transfusion he had received 22 years earlier after losing blood due to gun shot wounds. He is survived by his wife and eight children. He had been with the Liquor Control Board for 16 years.
