Deputy Mark Brown of the King County Sheriff's Department was taken off life support and died February 27, 1999, after sustaining head and internal injuries during a motorcycle accident two days earlier. A car had pulled out in front of him as he responded to a false robbery alarm. He had been with the department 10 years, and is survived by a wife and two children.
