Inauguration Day flag flown in Iraq
presented to lieutenant governor

ltgov w burris and matson

Lt. Governor Owen was presented with a U.S. flag flown over Iraq during combat exercises on Jan. 20, just as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President. The flag was presented by Auburn Police Officer Michael Burris, center,
a 30-year veteran who was in Iraq earlier this year and deployed to Joint Base Balad Iraq in support of the historic 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing (home of the Tuskegee airmen). Also receiving a flag from Iraq was Mike Matson, right.
Both Burris and Matson are members of the
Washington State Law Enforcement Association.
